For immediate release:

Orphan Girl Children's Theatre is gearing up for its first in-person event with an audience since February of 2020. After nearly 15 months providing 16 workshops and 11 shows online or in a filmed format, our Playwriting Boot Camp participants will read their work in front of a crowd - but also the event will be streamed to Facebook for your comfort and convenience. After two weeks of intense writing, we will celebrate this group of young writers by reading their new plays out loud for everyone to hear. These are all world premiere plays that may go on to be a larger body of work at a later time!

About the workshop process: All writers received a speedy crash course in the fundamentals of playwriting, followed by a mixture of one-on-one and group activities via zoom to build skills in character creation and development, conflict, story arc, self-editing and more.

The readings will be presented in two parts to accommodate out - of - state participants.

Playwriting Boot Camp: Part One will be strictly streamed live to Facebook on June 24th at 5 pm MST.

Playwriting Boot Camp Reading: Part Two will be the very same day, June 24th at 6 pm MST.

Outdoor location is TBD - check the Orphan Girl Children's Theatre Facebook or www.orphangirl.org for updates!

Social distancing will be encouraged!

Readings will feature the work of Aadya Chaudhary, Nimalka de Alwis, Rylee Forbes and Grace Speece. This Boot Camp was helmed by Educational Director, Elizabeth Crase.
