Two showcase Queen Anne-style homes and a warehouse being renovated into apartments are among the featured properties on Butte Citizens for Preservation and Revitalization’s upcoming Dust to Dazzle tour Saturday, June 25.
The dazzling Queen Anne homes are at 15 S. Excelsior and 410 W. Granite, and the third featured home is the ground floor of 403 W. Mercury across from St. Patrick Church. It was formerly a “dust property” on the tour roughly a decade ago when the restoration was just beginning.
The warehouse at 701 S. Arizona is a combination of “dust/dazzle.” The first-floor apartment is complete, providing an example of what’s in store for the upper two “work in progress” floors.
Rounding out the itinerary are the First Baptist Church building, 201 W. Broadway, and the Salvation Army Building, 121 E. Broadway. The lower-level fellowship hall and meeting rooms of the church have been reimagined into a dazzling vacation rental space while the upper auditorium will be available for future use as an event rental space.
Restoration plans for the Salvation Army Building include a coffeehouse and event venue in the sanctuary and several apartments upstairs. CPR’s silent auction will be held there this year.
The tour will run from noon to 5 p.m. Tour-goers can browse at their own pace and visit the six featured properties in whatever order they choose.
Tickets are $15 each. They will be available at all properties on tour day and may be purchased in advance at Isle of Books, 43 E. Broadway, The Corner Bookstore, 1877 Harrison Ave., and the Butte CPR Office, 27 W. Park.
