Butte, MT, October 13, 2022 - The Silver Bow Creek Greenway trail between Fairmont Road and  Crackerville Road is experiencing flooding due to area beaver activity. The flooding is located 0.30 miles south of the Crackerville Road underpass tunnel and 0.70 miles north of the Fairmont Road parking area. Please use caution when approaching and crossing this standing water.

The flooding is located on property owned by the Montana Department of Environmental Quality on behalf of the Montana Department of Justice’s Natural Resource Damage program and has been the subject of significant remediation and restoration investments to clean up the Silver Bow Creek corridor from Butte to the Warms Springs Ponds in Deer Lodge and Silver Bow Counties.

The Greenway Service District of Anaconda-Deer Lodge and Butte-Silver Bow Counties is working to find a solution to this issue.
