Due to scheduling conflicts and the busy Memorial Day weekend, the volunteer action to plant street trees planned for May 24 has been postponed until the following week.
Thanks to the efforts of a local contractor and partner Alpine Tree Services, more than 50 trees have been planted in May so far.
Volunteers will be much needed and very welcome to help plant more trees on June 1, starting at 9:00 am as part of this community project. Interested volunteers should show up at 9 am or throughout the day for assignments at the Front Street Station at 800 E. Front Street. Lunch will be served to all volunteers. Bags and gloves and a few shovels will be on hand but if you have gloves and safety vests please bring them along.
